When is a car useful?
If you change beaches or villages every day, a car’s flexibility may be useful. For a stay mainly at your accommodation and in Rhodes town, compare renting for only a few days. Put your stops on a map before choosing the rental length: several short outings do not always justify keeping the car all week.
Prepare your airport collection
Read the RHO handover procedure and locate the meeting point. Allow time for a shuttle when one is involved and keep instructions accessible offline. A night arrival calls for confirmation of hours and extra charges. Do not assume another office of the same brand can change your agreement on the spot.
Choose your car and understand the costs
For two people with light luggage, start with smaller categories; for a family, check boot space and child equipment. For visits to the old town or Lindos, check parking and accommodation access rather than expecting to drive to every door. Automatic transmission and child seats should be explicitly included in your selection.
The detail not to miss
A ferry journey needs supplier approval, even to another Greek island.
Questions before you book
Can I take the car to another island?
Only if both the contract and ferry service permit it. Confirm permission and coverage before booking a crossing.
Is the displayed model guaranteed?
An “or similar” label generally describes a category. Check the promised features, especially transmission and seats, rather than relying on the image alone.
